Many months ago our friends emailed us about a great deal they had gotten in on through a homeschool group they knew of. This lady sets it up and it was a choice of a Monday or Tuesday night stay for way way less than they normally charge, because if you've looked at Great Wolf Lodge their prices can be pretty steep. We were so so grateful for this deal. I booked us Monday night and we planned a family getaway with Tim's parents and Phil and Sus and the kids. It was perfect.
I will say that going into this trip I kept my expectations extremely low. I gave a baby shower for my dear friend Kelly on Saturday with her cousin Tiffany and it was really fun. Can't wait to meet this new little girl. In the process though I forgot that our kennel for Lucy closes at noon so we had to figure out something else to do with Lucy which we did, thank god for good friends. We were all tired but I decided I would go in with a positive attitude and low expectations and whatever good came out of the trip would just be a bonus. When traveling with kids this is always wise I've found over the years.
Anyway we traveled for nearly 6 hours with a long stop for construction on White Pass where we just sat for 30 minutes. It was crazy but again positive attitude it gave the kids a chance to climb around the car and get a snack. We got to Great Wolf about 1pm just in time to check in. This place is beautiful and designed around kids. It was awesome then we went up to our room and the kids were beside themselves with happiness. I booked a room with a little room inside of it with bunk beds for the kids and their own tv. They were thrilled.
We threw our suits on and hit the waterpark. It was amazing. The temperature inside is 85 degrees and get this. They put this wristband on the grownups that's your waterpark ticket but also opens your hotel door and wait for it. . . it has your credit card on it so you can pay for things without ever carrying your purse with you the whole visit. Someone needs to hook this up for Vegas was my first thought. Seriously. .could be dangerous or totally awesome!!
Phil and Sus and the kids got there shortly after we did and Pam and John got there later. We played for a long time and then went back to the rooms and got dressed and went to dinner at the restaurant downstairs. The food was pretty good and the kids all got wolf ears which they loved, and surprises again they were all really good at dinner even with 11 of us in our party. After dinner they were just starting the storytime for the kids and the girls caught that. It scared Shepherd a bit and Benjamin wanted to go to the arcade so Tim took him there.
We ended up with our kiddos plus Charlotte in our room for the night because Natalie and Charlotte were inseperable for most of the trip. They had popcorn and then settled down for the night. We hung out in our room for a bit and visited again loved the seperate room from the kids' it worked out great.
The next morning we got up and got our suits on and hit the waterpark when it opened knowing we couldn't stay too late in the day. Benjamin had to be home for football practice and we would've skipped it but I had a school board meeting I had to be at as well. Busy busy. Chris and Michelene got there in time that we could see them for a bit before we had to leave which was great. Next time we'll plan it out so we all stay the same times. We played for the morning and then hit the road a little before 1pm with promises to the kids that we would visit again soon.
We got home just in time for me to run upstairs change my shirt and nuke a piece of beer bread for my dinner before rushing out the door again. Tim took Ben to football practice.
At the school board meeting they actually called our task force group up in front of everyone and took a picture. I'm hoping it doesn't get posted too many places as I was sporting makeup done in the car while Tim drove 70 mph to get us home in time and nothing done to my hair after spending the morning at the waterpark. Awesome. Oh well it is what it is.
Yesterday was my day to help in Natalie's class at school and she got to eat lunch at school because it was her Wednesday to be at school. By last night I was a little tired.
Today was spent catching up on laundry and getting ready for book fair next month for school. Oh and I should add Benjamin got his first tackle last Saturday at the game. He was pretty excited and everyone else was too! Go Ben!! Life never slows down around here but it's pretty great!

Love your post Jamie!!!!!!
